Judith Fliedl ist eine in Österreich geborene Violinistin. Sie ist mehrfache Preisträgerin nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe und hat sich in den letzten Jahren neben ihrer Spezialisierung auf die Kammermusik im Kontext der zeitgenössischen Musik sowohl solistisch wie auch in verschiedensten Formationen einen Namen gemacht.
Internationale Präsenz zeigte sie bisher in den USA, Kanada, Korea, England, Deutschland, Norwegen, Frankreich uvm. Neben Engagements bei renommierten Festivals wie z.B.: den Salzburger Festspielen, dem Windsor Festival, dem Oxford Chamber Music Festival, dem Pablo Casals Festival, dem Maribor Festival, dem Aurora Festival, den Musiktagen Mondsee, dem Carinthischen Sommer, den Wiener Festwochen und dem Impuls Festival Graz ist sie regelmäßig in Österreichs wichtigsten Spielstätten, wie etwa dem Wiener Konzerthaus oder dem Wiener Musikverein, zu hören.
Neben der Auseinandersetzung mit dem solistischen Repertoire ist Judith Fliedl in Ensembles wie dem Ensemble Zeitfluss, dem Ensemble XXI. Jahrhundert und dem von ihr mitbegründeten Trio Artio und Ensemble Coincidence zu hören. Ab Sommer 2024 wird Judith Fliedl als Residenzmitglied im Klangforum Wien tätig sein. Seit Herbst 2023 hat Judith Fliedl die Position “Research Assistant” an der küstlerisch wissenschaftlichen Doktoratsschule der Kunstuniversität Graz inne.
Eine große Leidenschaft im Rahmen ihrer musikalischen Tätigkeit gilt interdisziplinären Projekten, wie z.B. der Theaterproduktion Ganymed Bridges.
Seit 2017 ist Judith Fliedl Mitglied des von ihr mitbegründeten Trio Artio, das in der Spielzeit 2019/20 als erstes „Featured Ensemble“ der Jeunesse Österreich fungierte und für das „New Austrian Sound of Music“ (NASOM) Förderprogramm ausgewählt wurde und somit auf internationalen Bühnen fungiert.
Ein wichtiger Bestandteil ihrer Arbeit ist die Erforschung und Erstellung neuer, interdisziplinärer Konzertformate. Im Fokus liegt die Erforschung neuer Konzertmöglichkeiten im Kontext der zeitgenössischen Musik unter dem Aspekt der Involviertheit des Publikums.
Nach Studien bei Igor Ozim und Pierre Amoyal am Mozarteum Salzburg sowie weiterer Ausbildung am Royal College of Music und am Trinity College of Music in London schloss sie ihren Master bei Priya Mitchell ab. An der MDW studierte Judith Fliedl bei Johannes Meissl und Stefan Mendl Kammermusik. Im Rahmen ihres postgradualen Studiums beim Klangforum Wien wurde Judith in Form des Residency Stipendiums gefördert. Weitere musikalische Impulse erhielt sie unter anderem von Pavel Vernikov, Leonidas Kavakos, Eberhard Feltz, Ernst Kovacic, Sophie Schafleitner und Heinrich Schiff.
Judith Fliedl ist mehrfache Preisträgerin bei nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben wie: A. e V. Marcosig, Gianluca Compochiario, Brahms Wettbewerb und Lions Wettbewerb. Im Jahr 2023 wurde Judith mit dem Startstipendium für Musik und Kunst vom österreichischen Bundesministerium für Kunst und Kultur ausgezeichnet.

Judith Fliedl, the Austrian-born violinist, has distinguished herself in recent years as a concertmaster, soloist and chamber musician. She has performed internationally in the USA, Canada, Korea, England, Germany, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, France and many other countries. In addition to engagements at renowned festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Windsor Festival, the Oxford Chamber Music Festival, the Pablo Casals Festival, the Maribor Festival, the Aurora Festival, the Musiktage Mondsee and the Impuls Festival Graz, she can be heard regularly at Austria's most important venues, such as the Vienna Konzerthaus or the Vienna Musikverein.
Since 2017, Judith Fliedl has been a member of the Trio Artio, which she co-founded and which served as the first "Featured Ensemble" of Jeunesse Austria in the 2019/20 season. As prize-winners of the international chamber music competition "Massimiliano Antonelli", the ensemble has received funding from the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation and at "Le Dimore del Quartetto", among others. In the 2021/22 season, the trio will perform in Austria, France, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Italy, as well as at the Festival Musical Montreaux-Vevey, the Quincena Festival San Sebastian and the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus.
A great passion in her musical activity is contemporary music. In close collaboration with Klangforum Wien, she is dedicated to the constant expansion of her chamber music and solo modern repertoire. In the process, she has already been in lively exchange with composers such as Johannes Maria Staud, Bernhard Gander, Johanna Doderer and Peter Ablinger. An important part of her work is researching and creating new, interdisciplinary concert formats. In the context of an artistic-research doctorate at the University of Arts Graz, Judith Fliedl is dedicated to exploring new concert possibilities with a focus on contemporary solo violin literature.
After studies with Igor Ozim and Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg and further training at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, she completed her Master's degree with Priya Mitchell. At the MDW Judith Fliedl studied chamber music with Johannes Meissl and Stefan Mendl. As part of her postgraduate studies at Klangforum Wien, Judith was supported in the form of the residency scholarship. She received further musical impulses from Pavel Vernikov, Leonidas Kavakos, Eberhard Feltz, Stephanie Gonley, Sophie Schafleitner and Heinrich Schiff, among others. Judith Fliedl has won several prizes at national and international competitions such as: A. e V. Marcosig, Gianluca Compochiario, Brahms Competition and Lions Competition.
She plays a violin by Lorenzo Storioni from 1780, which is provided to her by a private sponsor.
